6.15.10 - Testing Day 2

Good news thus far (everything is relative). One of the concerns was that Nicho's heart may have been enlarged, however, the echocardiogram indicated that his heart is working normally. As the doctors suspected, there is a LOT of residual scar tissue from the 2005 clotting events. Consequently, 30% of his right lung is doing 100% of the work, which is clearly not optimal. So, the doctors have their work cut out for them (no pun intended). More testing is scheduled for tomorrow, but he is looking more and more like a prime candidate for the procedure.

We take great comfort in knowing that we have the best doctors in the world for this particular type of surgery. They are very confident and we can't help but feel encouraged by this.
